I love our little old ladies, I really do. But holy smokes, trying to get them to eat their meals can be a huge, giant challenge. A meal without a special topper is torture and if it isn’t the right topper, then that constitutes true abuse.
I only wish they could sit down with a menu at every meal and show us exactly what they want, it would make our lives so much easier.
But no, some days, we have a true smorgasbord. Blender wants this, Jori wants that, Jillian wants none of those. And Barney, why he would eat everything they don’t want and it it drives him crazy when they don’t eat.
Today is Jori’s birthday. I brought her home as a foster when she was 18 months old. She has always been a shy dog around strangers, didn’t enjoy car rides so much and was a universal blood donor. All of that happened in a flash.
Karen thought it was her 11th birthday, I thought maybe 12. But no, Jori is celebrating her 13th birthday. Where has the time gone?
So, I don’t think it comes as any surprise that what I want to do in life is pet photography. A bigger surprise would probably be how much I love dogs.
Yup, photography and dogs go together like peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese.
I’ve spent a great deal of time over the last year photographing dogs and reading as much as I possibly can. So let’s just say that this week-end I’m dipping my toes in the pool.
The local humane society is have an event called the Willamutt Strut and I have a tent. Am I nervous you might ask? Sheesh, that is an understatement. I have spent the last two weeks getting all of my ducks in a row… and there must be a least a million to line up.
Come Saturday night I will either be crying in my beer or so pumped I can’t stand myself or a melted pile of goo. Yes, the weather is supposed to be 100°.
Seriously, does Saturday have to be the hottest day of the year? Regardless of the weather, I have no doubt that we will have a great time.
