Our dogs are weenies

Skirvee

I grew up in the Rocky Mountains, Karen grew up in Boston. Neither of us are strangers to heavy snowfall and if the truth be told, neither of us really miss it. But every once in a while we get an advisory that snow could be coming to the valley and I get excited. If it’s a work day, they usually close the campus (always a bonus) and I love the challenge of snow pics. The dogs aren’t really sure, it’s kind of fun, it’s kind of cold and really feels weird on the tootsies.

Flocko

Their world just doesn’t look the same as they left it and you know how change is.

Murphy

Murphy took care of business and hauled bootie back to the comforts of his cushion.

Blender

Blender tried to shake off and be brave.

Timber

Now the red head on the other hand, was right in his element. He loved playing in the snow.

Flocko

Once Flocko saw Timber’s reaction, the snow was not so bad.

  1. Wow, your dogs are handsome!! Such lovely dogs. Timber looks very regal and imposing among the non-Russian greyhounds, and those are great photos.

Skirvee looks like a souped up version of Sid, but with more legs – Sid is a red fawn with blue mask, too, but his mask looks like a Homer Simpson moustache, bless him!

And Murphy reminds me a lot of what Ranger will look like in a year or so. His face is going white, but we don’t have the heart shape yet. Same build by the look of it, too, tall and skinny?

  2. I thought of you guys when I saw the weather map this morning. I’m sure Timber was looking at everyone else wondering what the big deal was. Only rain and sleet forecast for here. Not so good for pictures 🙁

  4. I think you’re all really brave going out without a coat on. It was -2 here this morning but no snow. I insisted on my red thermal jacket before I’d get out of bed! Deccy x

  5. Oh Flocko, how majestic you look there in the snow! It seems like it could be your element. I don’t mind the snow as long as I have my coat on. Oh, and that silly Red Head looks like he belongs out there in the snow! ~~ Bunny

  6. That’s so funny! Mine, or at least Zephyr, is the opposite. They love the snow, but don’t really like rain. Zephyr is the worst. He will hold it and try to get out of having to go out. And then he’ll try to find a spot that is relatively dry. He hates the wet feeling on his feet.
