Murphy - December 25, 2003

Days seem to be flying by at break neck speed. Sometimes I don’t even feel like I can keep up. I remember when my girls were growing up, I tried to remember every change.

When I look back at older photos of the hounds, I’m always amazed at the changes they have made.

Murphy - August 1, 2011

Murphy has aged quite gracefully. What is it about men? Why do they look distinguished as they turn white?

Joey - March 3, 2004

Joey has always been a striking and handsome black hound dog. He had very little white and his coat really shined in the sun.

Joey - August 21, 2010

Compared to Murphy, he has barely changed. OK, he’s a little whiter.

Minnie - May 29, 2005

Minnie is about nine months old here, she still has her puppy coat.

Minnie - October 23, 2010

I never really thought about white dogs turning whiter. Minnie is proving me wrong.

Skirvee - January 17, 2004

Skirvee joined the pack at five months old. He had this beautiful black mask.

Skirvee - September 23, 2011

It looks more like a 5 o’clock shadow now.

Flocko - November 11, 2011

Flocko was 11 months old. This was the day I bought him to be our very first racer. He had a lot of black and man-o-man was he gorgeous. He knew it too.

Flocko - May 14, 2011

I often think we ought to invest in Grecian Formula 44 for Flocko. I think I miss his black mask the most.

It’s time for the Saturday Pet Blog Hop. Please join us.

  1. What handsome boys you have! So are greyhound puppies fluffier? Goldens are puff balls, and mine have all had weird wooly coats that EVERYTHING sticks to. Beau shed his fast but evenly, and was sleek for many months. Zachary blew his at the groomers – one side the first time, the other side two weeks later (yes, he looked ridiculous in between). Henry held on to his puppy coat FOREVER, and still has way more coat (and that distinctive fuzzy head) than the other two.

  2. Your greyhounds are totally beautiful, the faces are precious. I too am very into greyhound rescue and adoption and have 3 beautiful babies myself, Topaz, Foxy and Jack. But never very far from my heart and my thoughts are my Angels in Heaven, Misty, Audrey, Serena and Cerah. Thank you for sharing your adorable puppies with us.

  3. Oh my goodness – what expressive faces! They are truly beautiful, each and every one. I didn’t realise that greyhounds were fluffy when they were puppies… that would wreck their aerodynamics a bit!

  4. Hello! What gorgeous dogs. I have a white face so my aging isn’t as apparent, but there are a few signs. DeDe has a white beard now. Even Jen has some white whiskers! But then she doesn’t want hers….*giggles*

  5. I’ve noticed Beryl is slightly whiter on the face than when I got her 20 months ago. She’s just over 5 now. But it doesn’t matter, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and no matter what, she will always be beautiful to me and I know your dogs are beautiful to you too.
