Random Friday

Holy smokes it got hot today. I know, I know 85° would be like being in a deep freeze for some, but for us wienie Oregonians… we’re melting. And that annoyingly bright sun, what is up with that?

The noon time run just wasn’t any fun.

It pretty much just brought the lazies out.

And E.T. But, he never offered to beam us up to a cooler place.

Some are forever optimistic sun worshippers.

And others are smiling ’cause they know it’s swimming day and they can cool off in the pool.

  1. We scoff at your 85F!

Love picture #3 (one of the twins?)

We can get 85F by 10am during a heat wave, although today it was shockingly pleasant (ie: under 90F) Oh cool, in checking today’s high I noticed they shaved 10F off the forecast for the weekend, putting us in the mid-high 80’s as well. Woo Hoo! I’ll take it!

  2. As a fellow Oregonian, 85 is a tad warm, although I know how hot it can get here. I’ve noticed Sage can’t keep up the pace she generally sets on days like that. I can’t imagine how hard it would be if we lived in other parts of the country.

  3. Thanks so much for your comment–what a wonderful story! Toby too cannot tolerate any of the meds he’s been on except the prednisone and has lost so much muscle mass that he’s awfully skinny. I just picked up some really stinky high-quality canned dog food (tripe) and he LOVED it! There are some food formulas out there for malnurished dogs, but all have grains in them. If Toby has cancer, which is a possibility, grains will feed the cancer. I also got this frozen raw goats milk that is high in calorie and also loved by dogs. So, with several feedings a day, I’ll see if I can put some weight back on him.

  4. I loved your descriptions for the pictures. 🙂 I wish ET had helped us out. It’s been even warmer here than in Oregon. Minnesota usually gets a week of 90’s and that’s it, but we’ve had 90’s for almost a month now and with the humidity it makes for a very uncomfortable sumer for the dogs. I hope it cools of soon here and there.

BTW – You and Dogs Rock!! should compare photos – you both are very talented at capturing the beauty of your dogs. Happy Saturday Blog Hop!

  5. Oh Flocko, I wish I could offer you a respite from the heat here, but alas, it’s much hotter here! Yesterday it was 87 degrees and that was a cold snap. I’m starting to be afraid that I’ll melt away to nothing but a pile of blue fawn fur and a pink collar soon! I think you all should have your own pool there at the Acre and then you could enjoy the outdoors a little more. The sun does flatter you, though! I think the sun worships you, not the other way around.
